Some specific requirements of the European Union for laser protective glasses

2023-08-15

The requirements of the European Union for laser protective glasses are mainly reflected in the EN207 and EN208 standards.   These two standards specify the basic requirements for laser protective glasses and the protection requirements for high-power lasers, respectively.   Specifically, laser protective glasses need to meet the following requirements:

1. Have the appropriate wavelength range: Laser protective glasses need to be able to filter out specific wavelengths of laser radiation to ensure that they can effectively block the damage of laser radiation.

2, with the appropriate optical density: laser protective glasses need to have the appropriate optical density to ensure that they can absorb or reflect most of the laser radiation, so as to avoid damage to the human eye.

3. With the appropriate field of view: Laser protective glasses need to have the appropriate field of view to ensure that the user can see the operating area, so as to maintain safety.

4. With appropriate robustness and wear resistance: Laser protective glasses need to have sufficient robustness and wear resistance to ensure that they can withstand long periods of use and repeated cleaning.

It should be noted that the above is only some of the basic requirements of the European Union for laser protective glasses, different standards and regulations may also exist some specific details.   Therefore, when purchasing and using laser protective glasses, it is necessary to follow the corresponding standards and regulations, and choose products with certification.
